Disney live action remakes cast guide 2026 centers on July Moana with Catherine Lagaʻaia and Dwayne Johnson, plus the billion-dollar Lilo and Stitch ensemble — all billing sourced from Disney and major trades.

Lagaʻaia anchors Moana as an 18-year-old Australian newcomer of Samoan heritage. Disney press quotes emphasize representing Pacific Island peoples — the headline remake casting handoff of 2026.

Johnson reprising Maui and producing the remake is confirmed by Disney and Deadline trailer coverage. He remains the most marketable billed star opposite Lagaʻaia in her debut princess turn.

Maia Kealoha debuts as Lilo; Sydney Elizebeth Agudong plays Nani. Galifianakis, Magnussen, and Vance round out the hybrid blockbuster live-action roster per D23 cast profiles.

Chris Sanders voices Stitch; Jemaine Clement returns as Tamatoa in Moana. Hybrid remakes often confirm voice talent late — Sanders documented five recording sessions near Lilo & Stitch release.
