Hiroyuki Sanada as Toranaga

Sanada won the Emmy for Lead Actor as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, the warlord who outmaneuvers the Council of Regents. He returns as executive producer for Season 2 filming now in Vancouver.

Cosmo Jarvis as Blackthorne

Jarvis portrays English pilot John Blackthorne, whose cannon and navigation knowledge shift Osaka's balance of power. He returns as co-executive producer for the decade-later Season 2 storyline.

Mariko and Court Women

Anna Sawai won Lead Actress as Toda Mariko before the character's Season 1 finale sacrifice. Fumi Nikaido's Ochiba and Yuka Kouri's Kiku carry forward into Season 2 per FX press.

Season 2 New Cast

FX added Risei Kukihara, Ryô Satô, Seishiro Nishida, Mantaro Koichi, Takashi Yamaguchi in March 2026, plus Rick Kumazawa as Gaspar in July. Ren Meguro and Jun Kunimura also join.
