The Apple Martin Vanderbilt graduation on May 8, 2026 turned Vanderbilt's Nashville campus into the most-photographed college quad of the year. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin both flew in.

Apple, 21, walked the stage in a black gown with gold honor cords. Six days later she would turn 22 — making this technically her last week as an undergrad and a 21-year-old.

Under the gown, Apple wore a custom Vivienne Westwood white cotton dress retailing for around $1,020 with sleek black kitten heels. A signature Westwood corseted bodice nodded to the late designer.

Paltrow and Martin "consciously uncoupled" in 2014. They have rarely appeared together since. Vanderbilt was one of only a handful of joint public moments in 12 years of co-parenting.

Apple earned a Bachelor's in Law, History and Society — one of Vanderbilt's most rigorous interdisciplinary majors. She enrolled in 2022 hoping to "distance herself from her parents' world."
