The pop icon was charged with one misdemeanor DUI on April 30, 2026, after being pulled over by California Highway Patrol in Ventura County on March 4.

The Ventura County DA charged Spears with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. It is her first DUI offense, with no crash or injuries involved.

Prosecutors offered a wet reckless plea deal: 12 months probation, a DUI class, state-mandated fines, and credit for time served. No jail time is included in the offer.

Spears was arraigned at Ventura County Superior Court but does not have to appear in person. Her attorney can represent her because the charge is a misdemeanor.
